Volleyball.is interviewed Masayuki Takahashi of Þróttur R this evening and asked him a couple of questions regarding last night's match and his stay in
Iceland.
Masayuki scored a total of 28 points in only 3 sets. As far as Volleyball.is newswriter knows this is the best performance ever seen in Icelandic volleyball so far.

Where in Japan are you from?
I'm from prefecture of Iwate, it's close to Hokkaido
At what age did you start to play volleyball?
I started to play volleyball when I was 11 years old
Masa, you scored 28 points in only 3 sets last night. Are you happy with your performance yesterday? Do you think you could have done better?
I dont care about my score because our team couldn't win last season. So I focus only on winning. But i'd like to get more points from service.
Our reception is getting better.
Were there any special preparations for this match in Þróttur's camp?
Our serve was really terrible last match, so we fixed it. And we always try to have good reception in our every practice. Also, Stjarnan often changes members. So we watched it.
What do you think about Stjarnan's game? Did you think they were playing good or not? What was it that was good or bad?
They always have good reception. But Stjarnan's offense was simple yesterday. Most of Stjarnan offense was from the right wing side. So we were able to more easily defend
What word comes first into your mind when you hear the word "Japan"?

What are your plans for the future? For how long do you intend on staying in Iceland?
I'm thinking alot about it! I'm not sure. I want to continue playing as a professional volleyball player, but I love Iceland!
Do you have anything you would like to say to Icelandic Volleyball players? What do you think they need to do to get better?
I appreciate the Icelandic volleyball players. I have language problems but they are very kind.
I think that if you want to get better skills, you should imitate a good player. For example, I often watch these videos.
Also I often check my perfomance with my video camera.
So do you have a favourite player?
I have many favourite players. I mostly like Brazil's national team.
Do you have any interesting japanese sentence you would like to teach the icelanders?
